High level scope in a 3.6 L SC conversion:
964 wire harness install and SC wiring integration
ECU mounting
Complete fuel line conversion; 044 fuel pump to needed 964 accumulator
Rear motor mount mod
Throttle linkage mod
Oil tank breather line mod
Flywheel sensor mod

A big deal in the classic car world. So a perfect sc with a strong good original motor would be worth less than a nice sc with a 3.6 conversion? would a 66 Jaguar xke be worth more with a nice 289 V8 tossed in?

Not a real comparison.

All other things constant, a good clean SC with a 3.6 is worth more than one with a stock 3.0.:D

Other things, like a concourse quality SC to be not considered..

My neighbor came over and asked for advice. I gave him all the info from this thread. I just told him to be very careful, Ask many questions. I have a feeling my neighbor will way under bid anyway. I don’t think he has a clue about the value of our cars. But to be fair, he is a long time classic car owner. He has the most perfect, beautiful 1969 corvette I have ever seen. So he can probably take care of himself.

Wonder if there are bigger brakes too, to stop the thing? Wouldn't mind a 3.6 in my SC. I would say the price - point would be at least double than what the average /'numbers matching " SC is selling for.

So here is the end of the story, My neighbor went to look at the SC with the 3.6 conversion, made an offer and was rejected. His offer was way too low. My neighbor did not do any homework and he did not understand P cars. If he needs to know about another 911 in the future I will politely tell him to go to our nearest Porsche expert for a PPI.
