don't jump the gun when you troubleshoot
 

You know how when a problem creeps up on your car and you or you and your buddies formulate all the things that are causing it before you even start your search!! Case in point,my 1983-911SC AC fan has only worked on the high speed setting since I purchased it last year,I figured I had either a wiring problem,a resistor pack problem,possibly a relay,well you get the picture,so yesterday I finally get off my lazy butt and started the search by removing the passenger side foot board and voila!! the connector plug to the resistor pack had fallen off! I thought to my self it can't be that easy,so I plugged it in,turned on the key and she works on all 3 speeds now,it was a 1 minute fix.The moral of the story is you have to be methodical in your approach to problem solving and don't jump to conclusions that it has to be this or has to be that,of course not all repairs will be this easy.Enjoy!!

when i first bought my car i had an intermitent turn signal problem, checked all the bulbs......everything was fine, looked under the dash and noticed the rubber plug that plugs into the blinker relay was halfway unplugged........go figure :D

been there as well, back in my younger days I had a Toyota, lived in Toronto, Ontario, CA. I put in a new motor, and could not get the heater to work, well I figured it was something big, so I delayed working on it, winter came and I froze my butt off. Once it got warm again , I was determined to fix that damn heater, so I pulled out the Haynes manual. The first step was to unplug the blower fan, you guessed it, it was unpluged, once pluged in everything worked fine.

Lession learned, do initial investigation before deciding the if you are going to tackle the job....
