964 rear wing wiring breakout
Anyone have the 964 rear wing wiring diagram. I installed a 964 rear decklid on my 82 SC. I regret it now, wish I went with a duck, but it is what it is. I would like to make it functional. Just an up/down switch, wondering on the wiring to make it happen. I have the harness all opened up was just going to wire in a under console switch. Basically what wires make it go up/down. Thanks in advance

basically I have power running to the spoiler via console switch, just trying to figure out what 2-wires trigger the spoiler to move up and then in the off position down. should be simple but I can't find anything on it.
wire breakout it like this for the harness. blue/green green/black brown brown/green brown/red yellow/green red. |

Should be easy enough to work out by tracing the wiring to the two switches under the mechanism cover and the plug to the motor , as iirc there is a limit switch for open , and one for closed .
Then a single ground and 2 powers using switched polaririty from the speed controller to signal open or close . If you take the motor off , it’s easy enough to turn the cable by hand whiles supporting the spoiler to open and close . |

Hi. This might help you. It’s what I used when I installed 964 wing on my -78 911. ![]() Here’s the Auto Löc : https://www.autoloc.com/catalog/products/all/AUTWC1000/One-Touch-Up-And-Down-Window-Unit---(Up-AND-Down Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

That diagram is beyond complicated you don’t need all that. On mine I used a two way toggle switch. That is all you need, don’t overthink it.

Mine has worked with no issues. When thre wing goes to full open or close the current draw becomes greater and the wing will stop moving before my fuse blows, or strips the gears. So no need for micro switches that stops power.

Alright I played around with this a little tonight and I'm still having issues getting the tail motor to come on and I'm wondering if it's faulty. I have power ran and the decklid light is working fine. Do you need some type of control module for the tail motor to come on? How does the tail motor work without a ground. There's 2 wires that run to the motor a yellow/green and a blue/green. With the grounds/brown wires connected what trigger the motor without having some control module?

Those two wires are the ground and power y/g b/g. When you have them wired one way the tail goes up when you switch the polarity the tail goes down. That’s at least how mine works.

Ok I have the two brown wires on the plug connected to ground. The red wire when connected to power the light works no problem. What do the y/g and b/g need to be connected to power or ground? The only 2 other wires that are left are a thinner brown/red and and yellow/green which looking at the diagram those are for /up and down and should be connected to power depending on which one you want (up/down). Lastly on the harness on the side there's a smaller brown/white I was wondering if this is for a lid open switch and needs to be grounded in order for everything to work. Right now I'm testing this with the lid open and two jumpers running to a battery for +/- and proof of functionality. I've tried a number of different combinations none have which have made the tail motor work. I'm afraid it might be faulty that's why I'm asking so many questions and want to confirm the wiring is correct. Thanks again

Do not use any other wire besides the y/g b/g for the tail to move up and down. They are both positive and negative. When hooked op one way the tail will go up when you switch them the tail goes down. Only those two wires control the tail movements. That is way you need a window style up/down switch.
