Leaking at hard oil line fitting?

I know I probably need a new one but would like to get this back together now - any preventative measures to stop leaking once I fasten? I’m pretty sure Teflon is out, anything similar?

This should do it unless it is leaking elsewhere than the threads....just put the locktite sealant on the bottom of the threads not near the top so that any xtra does not go anywhere you wouldn't want it too.

The seal is on the flare , not the threads .
Make sure it’s perfectly clean and no scratches on either of the sealing surfaces .
You must a;so make sure the threads are clean so you can tighten all the way down .

Very seldom it's the "Ball & Cone" leaking. More likely than not it is the crimped Hose that is leaking.

These Copper Rings or Seals are available if needed.....

Clean the mating surfaces and tighten "snugly plus a little".

Do not over tighten as it will distort the mating surface.

A bit of "anti-seize" compound on the threads is a good idea with these fittings, especially at the Thermostat.

To clarify, the threads do not make the seal, it's the "Ball & Cone" surface as described above, with the "Ball" being the Hose end and the "Cone" being the Male Hardline fitting as shown in OP photo.

I Re-Make these Hose assemblies on a regular basis.

Cost is much less than a replacement, as the actual Hose and Crimps required are usually much less than a new assembly. Also, a word of caution...local hydraulic shops do not have the correct crimp sleeves OR proper Crimps (too long) to do this correctly, as per these examples....

The Hose becomes crushed at the bump in the fitting meant to retain the hose and fails prematurely.
