No Brake Lights -
Hope that some one out there can diagnose a sight unseen electrical problem.
The dealie is no brake lights on my 80 SC. I was trying to diagnose it this weekend via wiring diagram, and dvm. One suspicious area is that the engine / tranny were just out for a new clutch, etc. While in the engine compartment I removed the non-functional cruise control and components. The CC vacuum hoses had been removed by a pervious owner, but I can’t remember if the wiring was hooked up or not, or how I remove that. I'm not a wire chopper, but I do hate stuff that doesn't work, so it had to go Any ideas or suggestions how to start tracking this down? JB |

I had this problem some time ago. There are two pressure switches on the master cylinder. These get clogged over time and stop working. I just changed them and everything worked ok.
You can try searching the forum for more particulars. |

Pressure switches on the side of the master cylinder. Our host sells them. Solved my problem.

Go to BowWow and purchase two brake light switches (about $6-8 per).
Use the Search mechanism on "brake light" or "brake switches" and read up. If you can dovetail this work with a brake bleeding you are in good shape. Easy fix to a classic problem on our SCs. John
