Clearance in a chin spoiler
Been thinking about a chin spoiler addition on my 85 Targa. My car is already lowered.
I wanted to find out how much ground clearance I will lose. Got quite a few steep driveways in town to maneuver in and out of.

If your car has A/C, you really only lose 1/4" to 1/2" clearance if that. The chin spoiler sits almost level with the front condenser protector bar and screen. At least that's the case on an 88.

My car is quite low and has a chin spoiler. I welded a slightly oversized tow hook in place of the old one that I'd ground off coming out of driveways etc. Now I take a chunk out of someone's driveway other than lose the chin spoiler. Have to be careful with angle parking though. Don't park too close!

You guys are great.I do have A/C and the protector bar was the reference point I was looking for.

I've given mine quite a bit of grief and it's still there. They are more robust than they look.
