Seat belt light = bad voltage regulator (follow-up)

I though I'd post a follow up to my questions on this thread. Turns out it was the voltage regulator; changing the fan belt did nothing for the problem. I pulled the old VR out and the brushes were shot - abot 1/4 the length of new ones. Anyway, R&R the VR, and I'm back to a nice, stable 13.5V at all times. Thanks for the help, all!

BTW - Porsche apparently didn't see the need for a volt gauge in our cars since the selt belt buzzer/light and alternator light do a fine job of indicating the state of the electrical system. Must be one of those "undocumented features" as we call them in the software industry.
