DIY 993 Air Deflectors / Brake Scoops

Yes, I know you can purchase these from our host for about $30 delivered. Yes, I know you can purchase these from your local dealer for about $40.
993-341-083-00-OEM
The OEM pieces are made from a semi-firm rubber and have a single attachment tab on the back side for mounting to the 993 control arms. When I asked the local speed shop if they had any take-offs, they simply replied that they are always looking for replacements, because the always get torn off.

So, if you're going to have to wait a week for delivery, might as well see what's free...

Here's a template if you would like to make your own. These are made from thick truck mud flaps, about 5/32" thick. Got 'em for free. Template can be blown up until you have correct measurement on ruler.

I have attached them with 1" hose clamps along the diagonal brace. In the last photo, you can see how they bend after that towards the hub.

The trick is getting the free truck mud flaps, otherwise you're spending 40 bucks for them.

this will also divert water/rain and obviously dirt DIRECTLY onto the disc.... dunno if this is so good... a dustshield with hose adaptor leading to a front intake that doesn't collect dirt would be better... no?
