Inexpensive Cup Holder

Couldn't find a cup holder to clear my seat-mounted fire extinguisher so paid a visit to Lowes and bought a 3" PVC pipe connector and 3" pipe hanger. There's a small ridge inside the connector which I removed with my Dremel tool (not really necessary but I wanted to accommodate as wide an array of cups and bottles as possible). Cut the hanger to the proper length, painted everything black and bolted to body seat track. The pipe hanger can be easily bent to the proper contour and height. Despite how it looks in the photo, the cup doesn't interfere with the shift lever. Total cost about 4 bucks and some rattle can paint I had in the garage. Not as "trick" as the laser cut ones but it works.

thumbs up for the "I have to find a way no matter what" solution... and I like it. the idea is cool.

though you could mount my lasercut cupholder simply on the right drivers seat rail... unless you have a really tall bottle no cup or mug will interfere with seating comfort.

Such a range of creative ideas. Mine cost $8. Slightly modified bicycle water bottle cage attached to an L bracket. Took about 5 minutes, and looks it, but it holds a range of size cups and bottles very securely.

There was this strange electrical thing between the seats that didn't do anything, so I removed the big knob on the top and cut it open a bit. Works well and looks kinda factory

I just lay a roll of duct tape on its side in the passenger footwell.

Love the ingenuity of the OP, though. Looks great.

rebuilding my 3.3 turbo engine and had to get a new set of P&Cs. so made a coffee/beer mug from one of the cylinders. had to fab the black brackets.

if I put it in the freezer for a while, pour in two bottles of beer and it will turn the beer into a frosty....

I like yours, it breathes.

A great place to keep hot coffee. Doesn't get bumped or knocked over. Handles light to moderate g forces. If it spills (heaven forbid) it doesn't land on her perfect white pants.

no, just plexiglass bonded. first try I used JB weld, but the heat/cold process of the freezer caused that to crack and leak. so went to a non-hardening adhesive. dont have a pic showing that.

I have the same cupholder from Spadescustomz and fire extinguisher mount from Rennline. The Rennline mount has additional holes where the extinguisher can be moved laterally toward the passenger door one set of holes. This allows you to use the cuholder in the passenger seat along with the fire ext.
