cams 314/296

Has anyone used Elgin cams 314/296 in a 3.2 SS.?
Previously running rsr grind. Due to wear issues the builder is switching to these. Curious what the difference would be.
Any input appreciated!

Cheers, Mark.

If you ask Dema as it is his cam he will tell you that you need at least 10.5/1 compression as it does have a pretty fair amount of duration. You previously have run a RSR cam which also has a fair amount of duration it is important to know what exactly your cam measures and what defines a RSR and what truly the compression measurers not just the advertised comp ratio
If all this falls in line it is a great cam.

regards

Yes. Running 11.5/1 twin plug 46 PMO. RSR grind was a bit revy. Looking for a little more mid range power.
Sounds like these will work.

The Elgin grinds have less duration and more lift than the factory RSR grind. Haven’t compared the two firsthand, but I believe the 314 is intended to give better midrange.
