72T-Chasing leaks

I'm chasing down some leaks on my 72T. This one is minor, but a leak is a leak.

In the picture below, you'll see a hose connected to the oil filter assembly in the upper left of the right rear quarter panel, which then travels down to the lower right of the pic to meet up with a hard line.

The lower right connection to the hard line is where I've seen wet oil. Is there a seal in there that needs to be replaced? If so, what's it called? I've done the search and can't seem to find one.

The hose itself has a 6/72 date code, and looks original. Can't imagine I'd have to replace the whole thing, and I don't want to pay for it if I do!

TIA. I'm sure I'll have more questions as I soldier on.

Nick

The good news is those are "re-usable" hose fittings. Meaning, in theory, you can replace the hose and re-use the fittings. I have done this. Keep in mind that these are 45 yo aluminum fittings. I used stainless braided, but Colene can work.

Here is what you are dealing with.

Thanks for the response, Gordon.

So, am I to understand that the fitting or hose is leaking? Am I to find new stainless braided hose to fit the old fittings onto, or alternatively just buy a new complete hose with fitting?

Where would I buy the stainless hose, and what part # is the new hose? Seems to me the easiest thing to do is just guy the entire part. I just don't know what part that hose is, and hope it's not a zillion dollars.

Thx

Nick

Yes, looks like the hose is done. you likely have a leak between the hose and the fitting.

The hose is replaceable as described above. If you buy an entire new line it is the crossover line and quite expensive. Plus you have to pull the heat exchangers to replace it.

The hose is inexpensive. Use the Cohline hose by the foot. measure carefully and then install on the line.
