Front torsion bars install question

I am at the point of my front suspension rebuild on my '69 912 to start putting things back together.

I know they are marked right and left on one end and should be put on the correct sides. The other end has no markings.

My question is does it matter which end goes to the front i.e. the marked side or the blank side?

Thanks, Dean

Stress-wise the torsion bar won't care, and unless there's a different spline count or length on different ends it won't matter. May as well put them with the letter facing out so any shop that works on the car knows you didn't mess something up.

Edit: I've done it a couple of times and I don't remember taking any special precautions here. The rears it matters, the fronts I don't think so.
