World champion Michael Schumacher admits he is planning to retire before season end. He was pleased with reactions from Formula One chiefs and has decided to delay until Germany's home GP. Reasons seem to be the world situations and his childrens need of attention.

Is he still rated as the worlds #1 paid sports figure? I heard he gets up to $10,000 for wearing a sponsors cap during major network interviews.
If thats true retiring shouldn't pose much of a hardship on him, now for a hardship on Ferrari....thats another topic.
