Tonneau for 88 CAB - Good and the Bad?
Anyone have a good source for a Tonneau for an 88 CAB? I would prefer burgundy color and black as a second choice. Checked our host and did not see one in the online catalog.
Would appreciate any comments on the negatives and postives of driving/using one. Jason 88 911 |

I had a cover with my 89, and never used it. Seemed more a pian than it was worth, your mileage may vary.

I have one on my 88 turbo cab and never use it. I just don't see the point to it I guess. I would never consider using it while driving. If it is raining or cold I will have my top up. I thought I would use it to protect the interior from the sun while the top is down and the car is parked. I tried it once and it was a pain. First you had to take the boot off and store it. Then you would get the tonneau cover out and get it attached. An hour later I would leave where ever I was and reverse the whole process. Once was enough for me to say forget it. However, I still wanted to find a way to protect the interior from the sunlight. I found a product in one of the parts magazines (Pelican may have it?) I am looking at the magazine now and it's called an Interior Cover. This product I use all the time. The material covers everything from the back of the boot to where the windshield meets the hood. 6 velcro fasteners hook door handles, mirrors and wipers. It takes 1 minute to put on and you don't have to take the boot off. It cost around $50.

I got mine for $500 Canadian.
Phone Pelican; I think they can source them.... I have them in the "other" catologue? (Performance Parts or Tweeks) Not sure about burgundy though? They work great, look awesome and I'm sure you'll be glad you bought it.
