Blaupunkt New York Amp Location
Hi Guys- I need some help. I'm trying to put the "original" radio back in my '84 Carrera. The car has the fader control in the center console, hence 4 speaker system. From my brief research the Blaupunkt New York is correct for my car, What I can't figure out is where the amplifier should be mounted. Anyone here has the same set up, or some pictures of where the factory mounted the amp? Thanks, any help is greatly appreciated!

Thank you Bill!
Oh no. New York, not the correct model.(?) From the web, I found the Monterey Model is for 2 speaker set up, New York 4 speakers. The amp I have, speakers wires (Brown and red) are cut and seems to match what’s in the car. |

the fader control in the center console takes the 2 channel output from the radio and "fades" it between the front/rear speakers. So, if your Carrera came with a fader control, it was likely delivered with a 2 channel radio.

Darrin- thanks! I think you’re right. The New York was probably dealer installed. I pulled the floor board and found the wires from the fader cut. New question: how do I wire it back to original? All the wires are the same color. Lucky me. I have a Monterey in mint condition ready to install.
