Steve Wong Chip Question
Hello I have a question about the compatibility of a Steve Wong chip that is available for sale locally. I have a 1986 3.2 which I’m pretty sure is a 24 pin chip. The chip for sale is 24 pin but says 87 on it. Are the 1987 24 pin chips programmed the same as the earlier 3.2 chips? Will this run ok in my 1986 3.2? Any insight would be awesome. Thanks! Attached is the actual picture of the chip for sale. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...6351c7aad4.jpg

Looks like a Custom version. Steve will make a chip based on modifications that have been done to the car like exhaust etc. You can probably get more info from the horse's mouth at 911chips.com. It might work OK in your car but then again it might not. Unless your DME has been replaced with a newer one, you should have a 24 pin chip. In 1987 911s were transitioned to 28 pin chips part way through the model year.
