Steve Wong chip question
Hello everyone. I have a chance to buy a SW chip locally but wondering it’s compatibility. I have a 1986 3.2. This chip available is a 24 pin chip but has 87 marked on it. Will this run ok in my 1986? Attached is a picture of the actual chip in question. Thanks for any insight. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ad96a9a1ac.jpg

Contact Steve himself. He will tell you what it is, and what it works with.

As other members have suggested, contact Steve.
Based on his site, it's specific to the '87, but he'll be able to confirm. |
Thanks for all the replies guys. I spoke with Steve and he said the chip would probably work fine but he said it might be an older version. I went ahead and bought a brand new one from him. Lifetime warranty with him plus if I decide to change the configuration like getting SSIs later he said it could be only a $100 to reprogram my chip vs buying another new one. Steve is a nice guy and he shared a lot of great knowledge with me.
