RS leather door check strap install

For those that have installed the leather door check straps like the ones shown in this posting are there any wires to watch out for when drilling the holes in the door panel and inside the car for the straps? Custom Leather RS Panel Door Pulls and Check Straps

I have 1988 911 Targa

I believe that when you remove the door trim panel and interior handle there will be a rod that connected to the linkage in the door. Remove the rod and bolt the leather strap to the linkage (triangle).
