Mounting a Blaupunkt Ventura CD83 in a 76

Anyone mount a Ventura CD 83 into an older 911 ?
Is there enough room physically ?
Does the chassis slip out of the retainer cage that's on the unit ?
I got one on the cheap and figured I'd find a use for my old CDs.
Now I'm not so sure. I got it to power up, but have not done a valid speaker or antenna connection yet.
I'd like to know if its physically possible before I put too much effort into the install.
Thanks in advance.
Bill K

I had one in my '84. It fit just fine. The retainer cage slid in the dash hole, and the radio simply snapped into place. I'd assume your mid-year car's dash would be similar.

Thanks Arne.

I separated the cage from the head. (That was easy)

Once I install the radio into the mounted cage in the dash opening, how do I get to the two nipples on the top to release the unit again if I want to remove it again?
Is there a special tool?

Did you use an amplifier for the front and/or rear speakers?
