Weber idle jets

After sitting for six months with the same gas, the time has come for being able to drive the thing.
When I started it up, it took a long time after running the pump, sputtered for a minute, popped out of the carbs and muffler and got hot too quickly for comfort. I put an airflow meter and a tach on it but neither changed with idle screw adjustments.
Spayed some brake cleaner in and tapped the housing in case the float needle was sticking but that didn't change anything.
For the sake of time, I was hoping to change out just the jets to make it drivable before having to do a complete rebuild.
Can they just be unscrewed with the stacks still on, or does this require removal/seperation etc?

You can completely strip a Weber (except the throttle shafts) without removing them from the car. The lower plugs and mains are sitting in fuel, so be careful. The idle jet are no problem, just need a screwdriver.

Here are exploded views of Weber carbs at Pierce Manifolds. I believe Pelicanparts has the same diagram.

6 months is a long time for gas to be sitting around.. I've cleaned up carb internals w/a good dose of Techron.. no garantee, but maybe worth a try...........Ron
