Parking brake bracket?
Crawling under my 71E today, I was wondering if the mounting brackets for the parking brake lines are supposed to be like this? It seems like something is missing... Anyone know the part #? Thanks...

Evren, Touch your index finger to your thumb tip...That is kind of how this bracket should look, with a very small opening toward the rear of the car. The bracket should fit inside the groove of the cable fitting. Looks to me like the upper part of your bracket broke away at one time or another.

Yes, it's broken. Porsche part number for left side is 901.424.561.01 and 901.424.562.01 for the right side. Cheers, Jim

Thanks Jim, nice to know they are still available. In an email, I suggested to Evren if Pelican didn't have 'em, to try Stoddards, since they ship all over the globe. Lightweight, so they should be easy to airmail. Has anyone ever taken apart the fitting that passes through this bracket? Tips on the job? (I'm sure Evren's alseep now. It's 2:30 AM in Isanbul)

Stoddard's shows both left and right parts in stock; they call them "guides". They're showing a cost of US$5.13 each; I suspect Pelican can get them too. Cheers, Jim

Jim, thanks again for the good info. I've emailed Evren, he'll check this thread, I'm sure...

Jim, Paul, thank you for the info. I'll try to see if I can coax the local dealership to find them, otherwise will go through Pelican or Stoddard's... thanks again, Evren
