I was working underneath the car and I found this stuff. I believe it is gas pedal related. Is there any maintenance or cleaning or greasing required? While I am down there....

White grease on both ends and new bushings when they wear out. Metal ones preferably.

Yup. There is a pair of plastic bushings that are inserted into the tube. They get old, hard, crack, and should be replaced. Lube with a small smear of high-pressure grease.
