Throttle linkage on tranny

Hello

Does this piece in red circle look normal?
Or is it bent?

It is a little tweaked, should be able to straighten it up check your bushings while you are there.

This thread made me go and look at my linkage, and mine ('87 Carrera) has a slight bend in it; looks like it's there from the factory to align with the throttle shaft from the front of the car. This is a little different from your photo, though. Agree with above: you should be able to easily bend it into compliance.

I have a '76 on the bench right now, photos of the bellcrank below. Both arms have a slight bend to them, different and I think milder than yours. What I cannot say for sure is a) what I have is unmolested ex-factory; or b) your model year should look the same. Dunno. It may help, probably would, to look at the angles of the assembled linkage, as it is fully installed then operated, and shoot for straight and unhindered movement.

Thanks, I'm thinking I might have bent mine when I removed the ball attachment. I was tight and as I pried it off I might have bent it some. Easier to do some of this with a hoist than laying on your back (as an older than average poster). I guess it might not matter but I should be sure all flows smoothly for acceleration (very important! )

Anyway the data always leads the way, thanks.

I also had a tough time with the bell crank and accelerator rod. The tiny keeper wire in the round female receiver (I know sounds dirty!) was messed up. Can this little wire clip be replaced?

Get copies of Porsche parts manuals and ID that ball end part number, then plug into the internet. Should be several used link assemblies in someone’s garage. If time sensitive, call your dealer, parts source to order it.

I have 900-169-016-02 which is I believe the spring clip for an A 10 ball cup. I believe the part you're looking for would be for an A 8 ball cup. The A8 cup itself (which I would expect to include the spring clip) is I believe Porsche's p/n 900-169-002-02 but appears to be NLA. Anyway, the part is a DIN 71805 standard thing, and I ordered a bunch of A10 size cups via eBay last year, easy to find.
