Seat Cushion Dimensions

I'm about to redo the front comfort seats on my 77.

Since the car is 43 yrs old I'm sure the existing foam has shrunk or sagged. I want to rebuild the foam myself rather than buy precut bucks so I need some help with dimensions.

If someone has some as new or recently redone comfort seats could you give me some idea as to the dimensions shown?

A would be the seat bottom from the base of the cushion, not incl rails, to the top at its highest point

B is the same for the back at its widest

C is the drop between the bolster and the flat portion at the point of A

D is this same drop between the back bolster and flat portion at the point of B.

I realize this may not be an exact measurement but it will greatly help me in sculpting the new foam.

Also, if you know, what weight and density of foam was used if you had a recent redo?
Thanks.

Taken from my '76.

A: ~90 cm - bottom to welt.
B: ~50 cm - rear seam to welt
C: ~11.5 cm - insert to welt
D: ~40 cm - insert to welt.

Any good upholstery shop could recommend the proper foam, as far as density of cell structure (closed/open). Probably even sell you what you need.

I purchased new bottom seat foams for my 1980 from Lakewell, already moulded in the proper shape. Had a local auto upholstery guy dis-assemble the seats, install the new foam, repair some pulled stitches in the seat covers and re-assemble. Turned out great. I now sit about an inch higher than before, so the old foam had certainly lost its resiliency.

Thanks guys.

My foam looks and feels great but I imagine it has shrunk somewhat. Once I get my new covers I'll see how they fit.

No problem Bill. thanks for the help.

Can anyone else send me the overall width of the seat cushion at its widest? I'm talking somewhere about 20".

Also, the max height of the seat upholstered cushion, not counting the rails. Should be around 7"

I could also use the max width of the seat back.

All above for the comfort seat.

I am still looking for the dimensions shown in this sketch. C is for the upholstered part only, not incl the exposed rails. All dimensions are for the finished seat as it sits in the car, not for the covers laid open.

Thanks.
