Distributor allen head screw rounded, how to remove?

I am disassembling my distributor to clean / lube / check / rebuild if needed but noticed that one of the allen head screws was rounded by the PO.
Access is very tight so difficult to use a bolt extractor, drill it out, ...

Anyone had this before and can guide me in how to get it out?

If possible you could tap a tight torx bit in with a hammer. The tapping can contribute to loosening the screew

I have tried that but didn't work out ...
Next on the list is use JBWeld to fix a bit in there and hope it'll come out ... Fingers crossed SmileWavy

Any other idea's?

Attempt all the usual non-destructive fastener removal techniques first. This forum is chock full of posts related to stuck threaded fasteners.

If those fail, chuck in a drill press or milling machine and remove the screw head that holds that plate in place. The screw can then be removed and the threads cleaned up or replaced with a thread insert.

Here's also a great bolt removal tool:

Got it out last week SmileWavy

Bought new easy outs, German brand and not the typical Amazon / eBay stuff Chinese stuff. Drilled the bolt, easy out in and came right out!

Once again, having the right tools pays off ...
