wire harness removal - last step???
![]() -ok read every forum I can -down to the very last step, actually went smooth -1979 SC, have the main harness at the rear of the car, only wrapped around the torsion bar tube -so.... how do I get it out from there, neither end seems to want to clear where it is at and can seem to slide to outside or middle where there is more room -got with far with zero damage, harness is actually fairly plyable, so trying to keep it alive thanks, Steve

Recently just put mine back in my 79sc. That is a tough spot to maneuver it around but it will come. Took a lot of pulling. I will say on removal of mine I sacrificed that thick casing around the outside of it. Cut it off and got it out that way. If you cut that off the individual strands inside are still wrapped quite well. Then when I was ready to put it back in got some very heavy duty large heat shrink and made a new piece. Had to really pull it hard to get it back in as well but finally got it. Think like laying on my back with my feet braced on the torsion bar tube pulling with both hands hard pull.

So you pulled the front up and over the torsion tube to remove?

OK got it out, what a PIA that was, ended up sliding (lubed with dish soap) toward the center right by the torsion tube center brace, hole just large enough to pull the engine side bacwards/down, when you get the smaller line out the larger engine plug clears
Boxed up and moving to the next step... Octisserie
