Pedal box shaft has sheared

Pushed the clutch and bang. 68 911 . first of all is this common ??
Its been repaired by the looks of it. My next question is how do I clock this for the repair. I can't get in that hole and try to judge where I think it should be. Can some one post a pic or state where the arm should be in relation to the pedal or the split pin
Thanks Lyndon

It is a cheap simple part. It is a real pain to replace. Remove the pedal cluster from the floorboard. That means disconnect the throttle, clutch cable and the bolts to get the cluster out.

Disassembly is not easy. "While you are in the there" your wise move is to rebuild the entire pedal assembly. Then reinstall in place. If your clutch cable is old, replace it as well because you have half the job done already.

Good luck.
