that could be your camshaft drive to the oil pump- cover seal-but looking at it most likely(oil towards the front) from rocker shaft ....either loose or in wrong place. You have to take the valve cover off and inspect it..
take a picture from the whole bottom of the engine..another thing could be your oil return tubes...o rings...if you put your hand on them and are able to turn it that would be your problem

ok good to know some history..from the picks it does not look like the oil pump drive seal is leaking.More likely your rocker arm shafts ..not to bad to fix.Just have to drain the oil from the case. Remove the left valve cover ,set the engine to each cylinder so the valve are closed and the rocker are loose.Like you would be adjusting the valves procedure. But before you do anything remove the valve cover and look inside it.if you see any oil here -it is your rocker arms shaft loose.

Amazon and others sell a oil dye that is used in conjunction with a black light and special glasses. Add dye to the tank, let it run for awhile or test drive it, then look for the tracer dye. Any leaks will stick out like a sore thumb with the black light. It works THAT good.

Yes, they will cause an external leak, via the cam housing. RSR seals help avoid that, but it's a pain to replace them all in the car. Use the dye method to pinpoint the leak.

wvmatt. it is actually shaft not a stud.It has to be tightened using 2 allen socket or wrenches.
I am an oldtimer mechanic so i do not know anything by using a dye...If the rocker arm shaft is loose or even misplaced it will leak into the valve cover at the place i point out then will slide down between the camshaft housing and the head....
The shaft has to be like this.............on pic

In your case it could be just loose....i would start with making sure they are tight. As mentioned it is a PITA plus you have to get the o rings original otherwise major nightmare to install...

Ivan

the shaft has to be aligned towards the small bang...

Engines tend to leak more the less used they are.
