Need help on 3.0L performance

Hi all. I recently made a deal on a 3.0L engine and wanted a few tips on performance:
1. Im going to convert these to Webers, and am wondering if the early S cams would work.
2. If I rebuild the engine, Im thinking of using 98 MM pistons to boost displacement to 3.2, per Bruce Anderson's book. Im not too familiar with P/Cs, are there casting numbers on these? If so, does anyone know?
Any input and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Webers are fine... 40mm style for street use. Any bigger will not really be streetable...

S cams will NOT work with the stock CIS pistons. DO a few searches on the board for CAMS and 3.0L or "20/21" or "964 cam" and you'll see.

Frankly there's not a huge advantage to going with webers unless you also do the exhaust. An SSI exhaust with webers should net you 15-20 HP, but you will not pass emissions with this setup.

98MM pistons are a nice increase. With sifferent shaped pistons you can run a bigger cam, but again, less streetable. the S cam is pretty radical for a street motor...

What are you planning on using the car for? Is it an early 3.0 or later one? (39mm intake ports vs. 36mm)?

Thanks for your reply. This 3.0 is off a 1981 car. Ive also got a set of E cams, but would that work with the stock CIS pistons?
Ill do some more research on this on other threads as well.
Its going on a 70 car so emissions wouldnt be a factor. Im mainly going to use this on the street.

wildest is 964 and 20/21 with the CIS

nothing else (unless it is totally custom) will work
