Where the hell did you find them, or send them to me and I'll make them fit, or use the img button which just links to the other site.

It's interesting what you sometimes notice in these things...

In the last gulf car pic:

1. The Ralley sign is duct taped on the hood
2. THe drivers door is about to come open
3. THere is duct tape over some sponsors logo on the windshield
4. Steel wheels? Guess you can fix 'em on the road with a hammer.

Very cool, thx.

I think a 911 in a rally is very cool.

in events in yurop, the organizers issue the number plates and rally "license" plates to the competitors, just before the start of the event. Hence the huury up and tape it jobs

Can I assume , since a lot of public roads are used, this "legalizes" the use of the car for the event?

I'm guessing that is some sort of FIA compliant racing, and has to use pre '65 cars (ie only '65 cars can be used).

Those are from a Historic Car Rally i believe. The cars are totally original (on the other hand...i dunno). The steel rims are there because you can put thin race wheels on those -> More traction. If one were to race with 8" or 9", the car would practically float on gravel.

That black plate tells the car was originally bought from Finland (not an import) in the late sixties. Usually the cars with black plates are totally original "museum" cars that can be driven 30 days in a year.

I think I have couple historic rally pictures somewhere...including one Porsche 911 that has had a little spun. Gotta dig those up.

At first I thought that the pictures actually dated to the '60's, then I noticed on the .com displayed on the door of blue car.

OK - so they're 99.9% original!
