I've seen a ton of info about oil coolers, but I just inherited a 911 with a rather unusual configuration, and I'm struggling a bit to figure out how to install an auxiliary oil cooler. The car is a 1975 911 Carrera that has been modified with a slant nose conversion and 964 bumpers.
The best I can tell, the original 930 slant nose cars had a rear auxiliary oil cooler, which I don't think will fit in my narrow body car that doesn't have the rear vents. There is not much room in the right front fender behind the retractable headlight housing for an oil cooler, although I might be able to squeeze a Mocal in there.
I have an Earl's oil cooler that is 18 1/2" x 7" x 2" big and must have been mounted in the center of the RS style front bumper that the car used to have before the slant nose conversion. (A restoration project was started, the body work and slant nose were installed, but the car was never reassembled, and as far as I can tell, this oil cooler issue was never addressed.)
Any advice on how I can fit an auxiliary oil cooler in this car would be greatly appreciated.
