Hirshman OEM antenna help
I'm trying to get my power antenna to work so I can throw on my car cover now and then without having to cut a hole in it. This does appear to be the OEM unit Hirshman. Two wires come out of the unit into the dash area. 1) Connects directly to the antenna for the aftermarket Alpine unit. 2) Black wire goes to a fused connection at the ignition. With this black wire, about where the ash tray is located, two smaller wires branch off. One is small black wire that attaches to a 4 prong connected which appears to be a common ground for various electrial items. The other small white wire is connected to a small blue wire from the Alpine wire harness, which others have commented is the correct wire for the power antenna.
When I turn on and off the radio I can hear a click like a relay from the power antenna unit, but nothing happens. It does appear the antenna is possibly corroded up, but pushing/pulling while 3rd person power on/off radio did nothing. I figured I would remove the unit to see if there's anything that can be repaired before ordering a new one, now my problem is how to remove? It appears the top of the antenna (exposed) that sits on the fender has a collar with two notches at the 12 oclock and 6 oclock position. I tried lightly to turn off with plier and soft cloth, but no go. Any suggestions on how to remove the unit so I can take it apart. It also appears I need to get the car off the ground by 12 inches in order to remove a full up antenna from the fender area. Any suggestions feedback is greatly appreciated.

Same problem only antenna is retracted. Ever get the nut loose? Made tool to fit the two notches and nut moves but with alot of resistance. Afraid to loosen further.
