The nest: another update
The weekend has been a fairly productive weekend. I got both front rotors back on, 2 more calipers rebuild + installed. The hand throttle work along with the handbrake. I ran into one snag this weekend. I pulled the caps to the oil pressure relief valve and the safety valve. The Oil pressure valve was slightly stuck but it came out with a little coaxing from a magnet. The saftey valve (the horizontal one) didn't want to come out for the life of me. I tried using a magnet on a stick but it wasn't strong enough. Anyone have any ideas?
just a note: drain the oil before you do this. I lucked out and happen to have a pan underneath. The oil was quite black and the engine's only been run for about 30 minutes. Warren is (as always) correct. To pull those plugs you need a REALLY big screwdriver on a breaker bar that fits VERY snug.

Tim,
One way would be to whittle a tapered end on a hardwood [no splintering needed in this situation] wooden stick to fit into the bottom of the plunger ... using the O.D. of the spring as a guide. Spray a bit of Brakleen or similar solvent into the bore, and allow to soak for 30 minutes or so ... to loosen any varnish/sludge. Pound the 'tool' snugly into the bottom of the plunger and then twist stick with Visegrips ...

Thanks warren I'll give that a try tomarrow.
I forgot to ask. Would this stuck piston be causing the low oil pressure. I was under the assumption that the pressure relief valve would be the culprit and not this one, But I wanted to check it out anyway.

Tim,
It could be causing low oil pressure ... but only if stuck down part-way in the bore.

that was my thought. While I had the right tool I decided to check it anyway.
