In some cases the Porsche part is hard to beat. In others? Well someone has to make up for all the diesel emissions/cam phaser bolts breaking/lokasil failed cylinders/premature leaks under warranty screwups. It’s a VAG world now...

OTOH, there's no worse feeling than draining your oil and finding bits of plastic rails in the bottom of the pan.

I was thinking exactly same thing... From experience, Ok to use OEM (Febi/SWAG) or better to just spend more and go for original?
Small price to pay if Porsche ones are actually better quality, but not just for the name. |

Is there a history of broken plastic chain ramps?
Rubber - definitely. Plastic -? Does the factory guarantee their $60 ramps (really?) won’t break? Yup (price): https://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/SuperCat/5858/POR_5858_ENGCAM_pg3.htm |
