Number plate lights and bonnet light feeds question
68 911.
Fuse six feeds both. I can't find the wire in the engine bay to feed my number plate lights. It is separate from the tail lights to my surprise. I've accounted for all wires in the engine bay ??? Secondly. The bonnet light. I have a lead that is very long. Does this go to the fuse box or where ??? This car has never run in my ownership so I'm trying to sort it out. Thanks Lyndon ![]()

The plate light wires are routed under the car, along the top of the bumper, (or inside the bumper blade itself), usually sourced on the driver's side.
Unfortunately, working on these wires requires the removal of the muffler. You will find jacketed wires with the normal extrusion insulation, then inserted into 'heat resistant' sleeves. There should be grommets behind the bumper guards for the pass-through to the lights. Bill K

My plate wires come down of the engine lid. I have them but not the ones in the engine bay.

Right.
My info is based on the impact era bumpers. Oops. I forgot the long hoods had integrated lights in the lid.

I will just splice them into one tail light. I can't find a dedicated number plate light anywhere.
