Fuel level and ride hight

Howdy,

My car is going in for a lower and re-align on Thursday. I have the best mechanic in the world doing the work, but I am curious about the effect of fuel load on the front end right height as it makes over a 1" difference on my car.

So if the boys lower the car with a low fuel load, will I scrape off my front spoiler under heavy braking with a full tank of jam at the next track day?

Some data:

Koni Adjustables
Stock springs and everything else
Current ride height: F26", R25.5"
Tank half full at time of measuring

Ideally, I would like to have it dropped 1.5" all 'round.

Hard call Vic due to the many variables.

Just as a reference I run 8.5x17 with 215x17x50 on the front and its height is 25.0 even. I have a rubber spoiler (stock) on the valance.

Run HD and Sport Bilstein combo, all other suspension is stock (original!)

Never had a problem with the spoiler except when backing into my drive way with a full load (err...petrol that is!). I take the entrance to the driveway on an angle to avoid scraping.

Dont have trouble with any speed humps at sensible speeds either. (although I do try to run over those damn things in the surf though - sorry surfing joke!)

I would really doubt you'd have any problems with the spoiler scraping on the track, but maybe wheels and tyres scrubbing the fenders, depending upon what your running and how low you go.

When I ran stock Fuch wheels and 205x16's on the front I lowered to 24.25 with no problems.

You will always be able to make minor adjustments just by getting under the car a screwing the adjusting bolts to raise or lower anyway...so dont stress too much.

Have fun.
Mark
