Can't get battery terminal off!
I'm putting in my Rennline Mount/Odyssey PC925 in and I'm stuck. The negative terminal was no problem, but the positive seems to we welded to the post. I've got the nut off but it's not really making a difference, and to make things worse the post is now broken in the battery and loose from prying on it. The negative terminal is disconnected and out of the way, so any problems just leaving it as-is for the night? Any suggestions on how to get this thing off, short of cutting off the clamp, which I really don't want to do since I think things are going to be stretched pretty tight with the size of the new battery. What about just breaking the post out of the battery, so I can at least get the battery out of the way and figure it out from there?

go get a 'battery terminal puller' they're cheap

I chilled out a bit and went back out to give it another try. The battery post broke off cleanly and I got the battery out. Unscrewed the clamp and banged out the bolt and the post fell out. Unfortunately the battery mount I've got is apparently for a 993, so my car is stuck for now. I think the mounts are the same except for the base, so hopefully they can expedite me the correct one.
I had to trade my daily driver with my girlfriend this week and I'm driving her newish Miata and wondering what form a f*cking brain damage I have being constantly irritated by this "passion" I have for these cars and how much simpler my life would be with a Miata. I'm in a particularly **** mood with regard to Porsche. My Sunday morning drive in my 2018 GT3 ended when I went downshift out of 6th on a rural farm road and finding not a single gear to be had. Dropped it off this morning and I already have a feeling that this one is going to be a mess. |

Miatas are not all bad!!!
I have 2 Miata batteries in my '73 911.....they work well. I grease the terminalsbefore install and own a battery terminal puller. |
