I need an 02 sensor nut

I've tried all local exhaust places and bolt and nut suppliers, and no-one can find a nut with a thread to match my 02 sensor (Bosch) to weld into my new presilencer. I don't want to cut the one off my Cat and render it useless for the future. Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Nathan

The threads are the same as sparkplug, which I believe is 18x1 mm. You can buy an anti-fouler from any autoparts store, cut off the threaded fitting end and use it as a O2 sensor bung. The ones I got I purchased from Kragen Auto Parts and were made by Help!, came in a package of two, and was about $4.

Great, thanks Steve. Forgive my ignorance, but what's an "anti-fouler"? The nut & bolt place I went to measured the threads on my sensor at 17.5mm, but I guess it wouldn't be too difficult to compare with a spark plug. Unfortunately Auto parts stores in the UK don't seem to offer the same wide ranges of parts as the ones I've seen in the States.

It's the same as spark plug for an old Ford, not the more common 14mm plug size.

An anti-fouler is a little tube that pushes the plug out of the combustion chamber to keep it from getting fouled by all the oil from old rings in - you guessed it - old Fords!

Anti-foulers are use for cars that have oil burning problems where the oil gets into the combustion chamber and fouls the spark plugs. An anti-fouler extends the spark plug away from the normal postion and, shielding the tip from oil contamination. It screws into the existing spark plug hole, and the spark plug screws into the antifouler. There's a hole in the center, so a spark can still ignite the fuel mixture. The end by the spark plug has a hex head, so if you cut off that portion, you can use it as a sensor bung.
