Thank you, martensson - I really enjoy seeing some truly unique challenges that some of you folks are tackling. Just when we think every possible challenge in this hobby has been covered, something like yours comes along. It keeps things interesting. It sure beats the endless oil/muffler/tire threads that so overwhelm this forum.

Those wheels are awesome.

Do you and your friends in Sweden have any experience running that much offset on the track?

Maybe that is why i have had a hard time getting answers ;) My questions usually stretch beyond the everyday challenges.

The sad part is that people often posted answers like, bad idea, why not just do like everybody else, Porsche already made it perfect, why change it...and so on... I got tired of answers like that & just stopped posting here on the forum.

Uplifting inspiring answers, like yours, lead to creative solutions. I'll see what I end up with regarding the exhaust system....but some of you guys gave me some good ideas :)

The shifter linkage was the result of inspiring brain storming regarding weight loss ;)
The aim, besides all i already mentioned about the car, is to get below 2200 lbs.
To achieve this on a daily driver, comfortable quiet daily driver, is a bit of a challenge as well.

Factory linkage 668 grams
Drilled linkage 533 grams
AL drilled linkage 243 grams

I would say that is a pretty good weight loss on just the linkage

Thanks :) These are RH Cup split, turned inside out & we even left the air valve on the inside, to get a cleaner look ;)

It is probably not a good idea to drive these on a track at high speed & that kind of load you get. I have seen a picture of an RH Cup rim with a spoke cracked right off... NOT turned inside out....

The ones on the 911 are 18"...don't remember how wide they are, but tires are 275.

Very nice, martensson! Definitely like the out of the box thinking. If we just keep doing what everyone else did before, where would we be?
