Manufacture date and VIN sticker

Is there a way to identify the manufacture date for a 1989 911? I have the original owners manual but don't see it in there. The delivery date was Feb 1989 in Farmington Hills, MI. My car was repainted a few years ago and the sticker on the driver's door sill was removed without any photos.

Can one order a new sticker from Porsche? or recommend someone who re-manufactures the stickers.

thanks!

I believe Car-Bone sell reproduction door jamb stickers.

yes, car bone will make a replacement sticker, but believe you still need to tell them month of manufacturer --I'm in the same boat as the OP, any suggestions on how to determine month of manufacture?

I’ve seen the vin decals from decalrestore and they are amazing in every detail

https://decalrestore.wordpress.com/about/

You can seek out owners of similar vins to see production date or the PCA COA process could help

I went to a Porsche dealer yesterday and they looked up the 89 by VIN and printed a copy out for me. 12/88 They were very nice and it took a few seconds while there. It also had all of the option codes and serial number of the engine and tranny. Very simple.

Does anyone have a photo of their door vin sticker that has a black 1989 911. Mine was manufactured 12/88. I want to make sure I choose the correct one from Car Bone in Poland. Also, a photo of the Catalyst photo above the VIN. There are apparently 2 styles according to Car Bone. You can see in the photo that it looks like a silver vin sticker. Its the only photo I have prior to having the metal around the door redone years ago. Thanks Pelican!

Wait, what? For free they gave you the engine and gearbox numbers? The precious numbers removed from the COA and now only available with the Classic Technical Certificate for $500?

Wow. Will have to try that. My targa is missing the options sticker from both under the hood as well as in the owner's manual (even though the owner's manual goes back to the car's original dealer delivery).
