Gauges of Fuse Box Wires
I am changing my fuse box over to spade fuses on my 87 911 Carrera.
I have been using the wiring diagrams in the Bentley manual that have been very helpful to identify the proper color of wires and where they should go. But for those of you who have done this transformation before you know there are several different red wires, different yellow wires, etc. Some of the red wires are thinner gauges and some are thicker. My question is there a source that tells you the gauges or size of the different wires in relation to their location on the fuse panel as well as which wires are supposed to be constantly hot and which are hot only with the ignition in an on position. I remember seeing that somewhere in my research a year ago but I now cannot remember where I can find that. Can someone point me in the right direction. Perhaps it is in the Bently and I am overlooking it Thanks in advance |

If you look at the legend, color, wire size is listed. |
Look into the original wiring diagram (for an '88), the number before the color code is the wire thickness/surface area (in mm2) :
