Plug Wire resistance
When does one need to replace spark wires?
I did some research on the board and saw a message were Warren (Early_S_Man) wrote that OEM Beru plug wires should have a resistance of either 3000 Ohm or 4000 Ohm with a 10% tolerance. I measured my plug wires today using a $5 "harbor fright" Ohm meter and got measurements between 980 and 1109. I guess that means I should get new plug wires since they are out of tolerance. How would a lower resistance affect engine/spark plug performance? Would new magnecors make a big difference? Car runs decently right now but could use a tune up. Thanks for the help!

On a slightly related note, is the test for 964 plug wires the same as the older ones?

the plug to dizzy wire is supposed to be either 0K or 1K. I don't remember what my wire's resistance was today.

Tim,
Thanks for adding that. I should have also mentioned that my plug to dizzy wire resistance was 6 Ohm, or basically zero.
