Starting to lose my mind! Why me?

I have spent the last four nights in the garage and haven't really accomplished jack. It seems everytime I order parts one of the items I need gets screwed up. I have like 6 things I need to really get going and either have received the wrong parts or can't find answers to my questions. For instance, one project is installing the new clutch, I have the clutch and had the flywheel resurfaced. Flywheel installed and went to assemble the rest, but wait the install tool is all sloppy and does not fit the spline? Look at tool to see the word "FORD" written prominantly upon it! Damn! Ok, I'll install the oil pressure switch tonight, but wait the sealing rings I ordered are too big and the writing on the package says "gasket for oil temperature sending unit, 944, 944s, 944 turbo, from 02/85" Sweet! Ok instead of all that I will put the heat exchangers on. But wait I ordered 8 studs but there are only two in the bag. GRRRRR. Fine I will put on the new fuel accumulator. What is this? It's half the size of the one I have? Oh well the box lists it as correct and the design is the same so I install it even though it doesn't fit the braket quite right. Go to bed feeling like not only did I not get much done but have that nagging feeling that what I did get done was half assed. GRRRR I am losing it I need some encouragement! I didn't even list half the crap that has "gone wrong" either. Had to vent, I feel a little better now.

DOH! I know that feeling. It's quite like tearing into a project with all the parts you need an then halfway through realize that you need another couple itsy bitsy parts you missed

you are being tested. keep the faith.

(new bolts for the flywheel ? a must)

rabbits had 20cc (early) and 40 cc (late) accumulators. you might cross reference the numbers and pick the right one up at a vw dealer.

who(m) did you order from?

Yea, I used new flywheel bolts, 110ftlbs is impressive! I really should double check the accumulator though. Since you asked I got everything from Pelican. I am in Michigan and always pay for next or second day air as well. Not slamming Pelican at all as I realize mistakes can happen. But why do the have a Ford tool in a Porsche package? It's just that now even if I wanted to return the stuff I would pay too much in shipping to be worth it ya know? I need to really hit this thing one project at a time and accept that it will take how ever long it takes I guess. You cali guys that can get parts locally have it made!

Been there, done that. You can, however, align the clutch without the tool. You can eyeball it. Marcesq and I have done it several times now and it really works. Ask JW for good instructions, as he walked us through it on the phone the first time.
