looking for advice on brown or grey rubberized undercoating
Guys,
There are a few threads about undercoating and wondering if you can point me in the right direction. For the touch up areas I have taken it down to bare metal and sprayed 2k epoxy primer to seal it up. Now it needs some undercoating. I currently have some black 3m rubberized undercoating which will work fine since I will be top coating it with some white in the wheel wells like the factory. I have some sections on the underbody which does not have color and has a natural grey/brown color. I checked out the wurth undercoat and it comes in a grey which may work. Has anyone used it before and can tell me if it is a hard or soft undercoating? Or are there any other recommendations? Thanks! |

The wurth undercoating is a decent product and I wouldn't hesitate to use it. It does harden but it's still semi soft. It isn't as durable as what the factory used though.

Thanks!
I noticed the factory undercoat is quite "rubbery" it can take a beating, but once you attack it with lacquer thinner and a wire wheel or brush it comes off so it's definitely not a paint like coating. Is the wurth undercoat a similar consistency or is there any other products similar besides the rubbery black undercoat which is widely available? Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk |

There's another product made by upol called raptor. It's a catalyzed sprayable bed liner that is tintable. Good stuff too.
