Pittsburgh pelicanheads - anything happening week May 12
I'll be in Pittsburg PA during the week of 12 - 16 May visiting from South Africa, and was wondering if anything Porsche-related is happening in the area during that time? I'd love to see some cars buy some stuff or just shoot the breeze with fellow Pelicanheads.

There is an SCCA autocross the weekend beforehand (5/11 and 5/12) at Beaverun (www.beaverun.com) a new racetrack about 40 minutes from the city.
During the week I can't think of anything. We could perhaps all arrange to meet at some restaurant for some conversation and beverages? What will bring you to Pittsburgh? David

thanks for the reply. If nothing worthwhile happens midweek, we could meet anyway as you suggested if you know a few other Pittsburgh pelicans. I'd be happy to buy a few cold ones. I'll be in town for some business with CMU (being in the steel industry and all), but (obviously) will only have a rental car to show off, not a real one  . FYI guys, I just bought a house in Pittsburgh (Moving from Dayton, OH) in Whitehall. While I don't plan to move until the second week of June, I will be visiting the house to do some work during May/June.
Keep me posted and perhaps I can swing by. (Although, I probably won't bring the 911 until June) See you all at Mid-Ohio next weekend. Noel |

I live a couple of hours away - so I won't be able to make it. I would try to go to the Auto Palace Museum. Lots of neat stuff. 935, RS, etc.

the autopalace is also a porsche dealer. they have a moby dick(935) my favorite, a gulf 917, some ac cobras (1 the original dual paxton supercharged owned by shelby, and a bunch of other porsche racers 908's etc. and others. nice place the cost of admission (7bucks i think) is donated to a childrens charity. the museum is located in shadyside east liberty area.

Hello All! The weekend of May 10-11 is the Club Race at Mid Ohio. We are running a GT4S yellow 1972 RS Clone #72 stop by and say Hi. LeRoux, The track is about a three and a half hour drive from Pittsburgh and the event is worth the journey. I also highly recomend the Auto Palace museum, great venue and eye candy. Auto Palace is apx. 1.5 miles from the CMU campus. If a gathering comes together please keep me posted, would love to get together, I live in the South Hills. Welcome to the area Noel!
