Early deep Fuchs, traditional finish - photos

Another Al Reed success story - bought these early deep faced 6" Fuchs on ebay last month and had them sent directly to Al for refinishing.

In keeping with the "period correct" nature of my vintage race car they are done in a clear anodized finish over the polish.

It took a little longer than I'd hoped, but Al's attention to detail is worth the wait. Also, one wheel had to be sent out to be straightened.

Before:

After - note the balck paint comes up part way on the lip. A fully polished lip draws more attention to the deep face, but is not period correct - at least that's what Al told me.

You sold me.... My car is heading to the shop on Saturday to get her edges touched up. I was debating haveing the wheels repainted while there - I like that.

That looks good!

A work of art, Mark.

I wish there was someone in Australia that did Al Reed-calibre work.
