Garage Sale Find of the Week
Tequipment car cover:
![]() Needs cleaning but I’m thinking it will look pretty nice on my Grand Prix White 83SC. Especially for only $5. Cheers Last edited by Funracer; 05-29-2020 at 01:59 PM.. |

That's funny You're the first person to comment on that.
Back in the day I use to hear these old guy's refer to the racers with the 6 cylinder cars as six bangers. So when I found my 914-6 I already had the tag for it figured out. |

If you ever your car, you will never drive it.
Never cover your car. Beginning of the end

Banned but not out, yet..

^ whenever I cover my cars it’s like putting a flashing VACANCY sign on them. The mice immediately start moving in. it’s like tent camping with wall to wall carpet. Bring your own snacks.
So I no longer use two perfectly good indoor covers which were rather expensive. But they do make a great sales tool when selling the car having it covered when a potential buyer appears. This is obviously a well cared for ride. In the meantime they are parked with frunk and engine lid and glove box open with heater levers up.

Not a fan of covering a car that sits indoors. Does more harm than good. Things on the paint get rubbed by the cover and damage the paint. Things on the inside of the cover rub the paint and damage it.

last year when I took it out to drive once I was surprised at all the junk that had accumulated on it. Pieces of 1980s popcorn ceiling that would fall off a bit each time the garage door was opened, some kind of lube fell off the opener onto the hood. It was so dirty I decided then to keep it covered from now on if I think it will sit for more than a week. It remains much cleaner when covered with its $150 California Car Cover. Secondly, have you ever seen one of these Tequipment covers in person? Polyester, made in Italy, way way nicer than even my kind of expensive California Cover and in a totally different league than the several cheap Walmart covers I have accumulated over the years. Soft as a new baby diaper. No scratching here. These things are $250-$300 on ebay and I do not feel they are overpriced. I drive my 911 often but if it has to sit in the future it will be well protected. |
