Lost key for tire lock

I've purchased a 1989 911 and the previous owner is missing the wheel security key, does anyone have a suggestion on how to remove??

this thread may help -- Lost '87 factory wheel lock key

Suggest that one you get them off, you leave them off -- as my mechanic told me years ago, the only person they're going to deter is you, when you're trying to change a flat in the rain at nite

everyone in the other thread was lock bashing .. get rid of them . but to me its not about security. i think it completes the look of an 80s era car and is a really nice touch. I have the locks the keys and the little plastic cap and they look great on the car.
its all about the details. Never had an issue with them and run a little silicone lube through the lock every year for maintenance.

So this lock/key is located behind the standard lug nut, you first take off the standard lug nut and then need to take this "lock" off, but I don't have the special key. Previous owner cant find it.

Any suggestions?

Easy enough to make one. I had a factory tool for a 1998 Boxster broken by Costco. Those have the half round cutouts around the outside of the head. Yours appears to have pockets on the inside with a bore through the middle.
Measure the diameter of the bore, maximum diameter where the pins sit and diameter of the pin pocket. You only need one pin to take it off.
Get a piece of steel bar the diameter of the lug nut. Drill a hole for a dowel pin then turn the bar with a step so it fits in the inside bore. Tap a hardened dowel pin into the hole with enough sticking out to go to the bottom of the pocket.
Either machine the end to a hex (or square if you have farmer sockets) or weld a cross bar onto the new socket. Do not use a air/electric impact. It looks as though someone did that already. It appears the lower pocket is the least buggered up.
Push in on the socket and turn it out keeping it square to the lug nut.
This one is aluminum body and works fine. The daft part about these locks is that a single pin socket is universal.

Can you put a large screwdriver against it on a 45 degree angle and carefully hammer the screwdriver?

Stating the obvious here... But you have checked the toolkit, the glovebox and the smugglers box for the bit?

The guy I go to for tires seems to have a security key for every wheel lock for when customers drop off the car and forgot the key. I'd think most good tire shops are the same way

I had the locks on my 2014 BMW removed by the dealer. They busted them up and put regular lugs on.

As my tire guy said, "No one is going to steal your wheels; they'll just take the whole car..."
