Rod bolts which one

Our host has some rod bolts for a 3.0 Porsche. rod bolts for $32.00 then OEM $9.75
Would the OEM rod bolt be ok for stock motor. Porsche no longer sell the rod nuts you have to buy oem nuts.

If you are rebuilding go with ARP rod bolts.

Do I need to machine the rods for them, I looked on their website and found none for the 3.0 motor.

This is the PN ARP 204-6001 - Porsche M10 rod bolt kit. Do a google search, there are several suppliers. Unfortunately our host is not one of them.

They are exact replacements, no machining required.

... though most would advise having the rods resized to confirm that critical dimension with higher torque value used on ARP rod bolts.

Or buy Pauter rods, which come with ARP rod bolts anyway and save something like 100g for each rod - that's a difference you can feel.

Seem to recall the factory allowed up to 9g difference per rod in the same weight group, and rules as to where you should fit the heaviest/medium/lightest pairs.

It's a lot easier when all the rods just weigh the same...

And balanced. Rod bolts and a full balance of the rotating assembly transforms an engine. It will rev better with less internal stress, and you will feel it. It shouldn't be a lot of money to do this.
