e-brake is frozen, help!

It all started with back-dating the exhaust on my 87' Carrera. It has turned into new axles, speedo sensor, undercarriage scrubbing and degreasing, rear pads and rotors, possible rear wheel bearings (scared of this one), parking brake pads and now I have discovered that my e-brake cables are completely frozen, They won't even budge. Has anyone ever replaced the cables and cable housing?
How do the cable housings detach from the shift linkage tunnel?
Does anyone know if the e-brake cables from our host include the housing?
I am talking about the one that runs fom the control arm to the tunnel. Thanks CJ.

Ditto on this one, I did this the other night in a futile attempt to accomplish something. Mine were frozed as well. Using heat and a vise grips on the housing I got one free and the other stripped on the adjuster. I also await an answer here.

I just got done re-assembling the e brakes on my '68. I did not replace the cables but from what I have seen from parts suppliers, I believe they only provide the wire that runs inside the cable housing. Not sure what would cause yours to bind. Here's a picture from our host, your model is probably a little different from mine...

Part #'s 39-43 seem to be available but the cable housing and adjusting nuts have no part #. Does this mean that the part is not available? My cable (part 39) is rusted solid inside the housing. Any suggestions?

Have you exposed the cable area? try sprayng w-d with a long tube usually comes with spraytube then try liftingbrake you cant be in a hurry with this cause it takes time for the wd to set up and travel down the cable

You need to go inside the rear brake drum. The cable is held in place with a nut on the end. Once the nut is removed. Pull the tube with the cable frozen inside, out the back.
Then you'll be able to get some PB Blaster down into the tube.

Give it a couple days. It should free up.
